- Lister and Cat are late for an emergency drill which soon becomes an emergency when a craft is detected headed towards them, a deep-space law enforcement drone holds them up and charges them with looting Space Corps derelicts, their guilt is certain and they take off, the drone fires at them scoring a hit, the Dwarfers fly to a GELF zone where they know the drone won't follow them, Starbug is in critical condition and burning and they need to make an urgent landing, a GELF moon is detected and Lister requests Cat fly land in the ocean, he does so which extinguishes the flames.
The Dwarfers have lost nearly all their possessions in the chaos, Lister has fixed the pumps in the engine room to drain the flooding, auto-repair can fix all the damaged machinery except the oxygen unit which is beyond repair, they'll have to trade something to the GELFs for an oxygen unit, they enter the village and Kryten speaks to them in their language, they offer some of their belongings and are allowed entry into the Chieftain's hut, the Chieftain has a pet Polymorph, Emohawk, another trade is needed for the oxygen unit, they'll give it to the Dwarfers if Lister marries the Chieftain's daughter. Lister refuses, the GELFs won't hand over the unit unless he accepts the proposal. They have five minutes to decide, Lister refuses to do it, Cat explains the obvious plan, they'll make the deal and when everyone is asleep they'll return to rescue Lister, Lister still refuses.
One Gilligan's Cut later Lister is married and the others take the oxygen unit, Lister is taken to the honeymoon hut where his bride wants to mate, Lister instead slips out the front door and runs past his crewmates back to the ship, the bride is distraught and the Chieftain sends his Emohawk after them.
Cat detects the Emohawk, it takes the form of a stick in Cat's hand and he throws it away in shock, Lister's hat is knocked off in the commotion, he picks up the Emohawk disguised as his hat and takes it on Starbug. They fly off the moon and Lister and Kryten go to install the oxygen unit, Cat can still smell the Emohawk and goes to wash his hands, the Emohawk takes the form of can of baked beans and steals Cat's emotions, the Emohawk flies into the cockpit as a paper plane. Cat has lost his cool, having turned into Duane Dibbley.
Rimmer attempts to warn the others but the transmitter is actually the Emohawk in disguise which steals his bitterness turning him into Ace Rimmer. Ace plans to kill the Emohawk at the cost of his and Duane's life, he seals Lister and Kryten in the engine room and lets them know, he'll open the airlock killing the creature and himself, he'll kill Duane quickly with a neck snap. Lister blasts the door down with a bazookoid and they all hunt the creature with bazookoids and a canister of liquid nitrogen, it's hiding in the lower levels, Duane picks up what he thinks is his dropped thermos and realizes he's already holding his, the second thermos transforms back into the Emohawk and then a hand grenade, Duane throws it away feebly, Ace dives on it to shield the others from the blast and turn it back into the Emohawk so Lister can freeze it.
With the Emohawk defeated Rimmer asks for another twenty-four hours as Ace as reward, Duane however wants to be Cat again and accidentally freezes the others.
