Quotes

  • Rowdy Yates : Mr Favor, you're wrong.

Gil Favor : In the first place, I'm not about to argue with you. In the second place, when I'm wrong, I'm always the first to admit it.

Rowdy Yates : You ain't admitted it yet.

  • Rowdy Yates : Oh, well, Mr Lockwood, I know what you're gonna ask and the answer is, no, no. I don't wear this nightshirt on the trail. I just bought this to go along with renting this bridal suite so that I'd have the best night's sleep a man ever had.

  • Rowdy Yates : See I plan on beating you in.

Gil Favor : You? You plan on beating me in?

    Rowdy Yates : Uh huh.

Gil Favor : And just how do you plan to beat me in?

Rowdy Yates : Well, by watching every stick and stone, driving faster, better and smoother than you... you'll be eating my dust.

  • Rowdy Yates : Don't think I'm seasoned enough for it yet.

Wishbone : But learning every step of the way.

  • Mushy : You see, Mr Rowdy.

Gil Favor : Ah, ah. Just plain Rowdy.

Rowdy Yates : Just plain Rowdy?

  • Rowdy Yates : Weed, hold 'em back. They're going too fast.

Weed : Ah, the cattle in the back can't breathe, they keep trying to get up front, increasing the speed.

Rowdy Yates : Well, decrease it.

    Weed : All right.

  • Luke : We're calling this a race? You mean you? Yeah, I bin watching you. I got a broken leg, broken arm, maybe a couple of busted ribs. And it's killing you worse than it's hurting me. Now you listen to me, I break legs all the time, arms too. I ain't saying I like it that way, but don't call this race off on account of me. You want to beat him to that railhead, you get at it.

Rowdy Yates : Well, I'm glad you don't hold it against me.

Luke : Well, I've heard a lot about this Gil Favor. Anybody that's supposed to be that good, don't sit too good with me. So you whip him for me. Biggest favour you could do for me. You whip him real good.

  • Rowdy Yates : In my judgement.

Gil Favor : Your judgement? Since when in the everloving did you get judgement?

  • Rowdy Yates : Why don't you just inform the railway that we'll be there on the 5th. Right, Weed.

Weed : Yup. You're the boss, Mr Yates.

Rowdy Yates : That's right. Okay, Weed, let's shake 'em up because we got a new brand of cattle we're pushing.

    Weed : What kind's that?

Rowdy Yates : The racing kind.

  • Weed : You know me, Rowdy. I'm kinda rolling stone. I had in my mind to go out to California. I think I might just do that.

    Rowdy Yates : Yeah, swell.

Weed : Well, excuse me, I gonna go and make my peace with Charlie.

  • Rowdy Yates : Never thought I'd see the day that cattle were smiling. Looks like we're going to be on time though.

Weed : I got no objections for that. I'd rather be lucky like you.

Rowdy Yates : Lucky, huh? I spent all night in Diablo sending and receiving these
