  Gil Favor : Well, you always got a choice. You can stand guard or draw your pay.

  Teddy : What's eating on him, Jim?

  Jim Quince : We're in Cheyenne country. Pete's been gone two days. He's got a right to be bothered.

• Manso : You have bad people. I also have bad people.

  Manso : You don't let them stay bad for very long.

  Gil Favor : Cheyenne law. I say we come hunt not fight. I am Chief. He dies.

• Pete Nolan : Sure didn't take long for them to get out of here.

  Gil Favor : What chance we got of following 'em?

  Pete Nolan : When Cheyenne move, they move fast. We got no chance at all.

• Beckstrom : That my place, just up ahead.

  Gil Favor : Sure you want to stop? Sometimes old scars don't heal as hard as you think.

  Gil Favor : How are you so sure?

  Manso : See flash there? Over there. What we look for is between.
