At just over 5/6 of the way thru the program, right before Quincy visits the BMW dealer, the light on his Coroner's wagon is red. Then 20 seconds later, when he's shown exiting a freeway to the escrow company, it's yellow again.
After Quincy has met with Sgt. Taggart at Danny's, when Taggart reviews the scene, the rear license plate of his Coroner's (Ford) station wagon can be seen and it reads [E]999853, which is the same as the license plate on most of the Coroner's (AMC Matador) station wagons used in prior seasons. The front license plate can then also be seen about 6 minutes later when Quincy pulls into Sgt. Taggart's driveway.
When the man goes in to the liquor store to rob it, you can see the director in the reflection of the first telephone booth. He makes the "cut" motion with his arm and then the scene ends.
There is no way the cop would just be standing in the middle of the street to think a car is running him down, and there is no reason for the woman driver to purposely aim at someone supposedly standing in the middle of the street. The entire setup of the episode makes no sense.
The police supervisor is Captain Bittles. When the suspect officer's wife visits Quincy at the restaurant, she refers to the supervisor as "Lieutenant Bittles."
