This episode has got a lot of stick over the years, and it's easy to see why.
Involving children in the rough and tough Professionals world doesn't seem to work, and at times it feels like a slightly more violent than usual Children's Film Foundation production.
The plot is fairly simple - a drug pusher shoots dead an addict whom he thinks is going to spill the beans to Bodie's latest girlfriend - and is urged by his handler to dispose of the incriminating murder weapon pretty pronto.
In a panic, he chucks it over the garden wall of a pop star's mansion - but it ends up in the hands of two boys, who mistake it for a toy. The pop star's young son is accidentally shot by his friend Tony and, thinking he's killed him, goes on the run. The drug pusher needs the gun back, and a cat and mouse chase ensues. Meanwhile, CI5 are closing in on the drug gang - but the whereabouts of the incriminating and elusive gun remain a mystery.
This one never really gets going, and the young boy on the run is never really a character that viewers can properly really sympathize with. The slightly cheesy 'child' incidental music - later heard again in 'You'll be Alright' - seems to only serve to emphasis this episode's rather lightweight feel.
So, maybe not The Professionals finest hour - although Celia Gregory does put in a good shift as Bodie's likeable girlfriend. It all works out ok in the end of course - and young Tony even gets to see behind the scenes at CI5 HQ - not unlike the Thunderbirds episode 'Cry Wolf'!
