Lying there in the clinic, as he talks to Brooke, Harrison is really just spewing hot air, and if you guys checked up on it, he is talking from a myopic viewpoint. Like Brooke says, HE REALLY DOESN'T KNOW HER AT ALL.
Way back, I had assumed that blonde cheerleader Brooke was destined to be the BEVERLY HILLS 90210 (early seasons) Kelly, the difficult, self-centered character. I think that was the original premise. But then the storyline got caught up with Nicole Julian and Mary Cherry, and all the bad, uncool things were done by those two. Brooke's only flaw was that she (SHUDDER!) kept Nic on for a... dare I desecrate the word?... friend. With a friend like Nicole Julian, you hold a viper to your bosom. It always struck me that it was totally totally ludicrous that Brooke would stick with patently poisonous Nicole Julian for longer than a lunch period.
Bottom line is, WHILE THE STORYLINE SHOULD HAVE FEATURED A SHALLOW, VINDICTIVE Brooke, it left those traits to Nicole Julian. Negative qualities to Brooke? Hell, allow her to be image-conscious and angst-ridden, that is normal, to be expected, a pretty girl is literally a hunted bunny.
What I am trying to say is, I have found no evidence that Brooke is a selfish person who do not care about others, who only looks after herself, none of that. Quite the contrary. As I've suffered (yeah!!) through these episodes, there's been few that I liked, well, Sam of course, but Brooke has always been a cheerleader with a heart of gold, if there is any evidence to the contrary, it was the influence of demon girlfriend Nicole Julian.
Remember what I said about what should have been. Clearly, the scriptwriters think that in the past, just exactly that had been nailed, that Brooke is a self-centered cheerleader type.
She is not.
Don't agree with me?
Look at it again.
Anything that sounds like accusations or criticism from Harrison, is therefore based on WHAT REALLY SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE STORY, BUT WASN'T ACTUALLY DONE (as so much focus fell on Nicole Julian and Mary Cherry.
In short, the entire theme was never really lived up to. In very, very short, POPULAR is one big goof.
But I really adore Leslie Bibb, thank you very much, and I do my bit here for Brooke McQueen, thank you very much.
The episode? This leukemia storyline? AND INSTANT WEIGHT GAIN AFTER EATING ONE, THAT IS, ONE, ONLY ONE, CHOCCIE? Aw, you know what I think of it? You wanna guess?
