Kathryn Leigh Scott and Terry Wills in Police Squad! (1982)

Goofs

A Substantial Gift (The Broken Promise)

Police Squad!

Edit

Continuity

Olsen's gunshot completely destroyed the second row of video tapes, leaving nothing. Then Olsen and Drebin walk up to the other side of the room where there's still a little bit of wrecked tape standing on the previously empty shelf.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

Drebin is referred to at different times in the episode as a captain and as a lieutenant. This was done on purpose as a joke.

Revealing mistakes

Just before Al takes a bite of the banana he is holding, Drebin tells him he has something on the side of his mouth and he brushes the left side of his face.

Drebin then says "No, no, the other side" at which point Al brushes the right side of his face and a large piece of banana falls onto the desk (obviously the joke being that the piece of banana was on the side of Al's mouth).

However, in later releases of the series on home media the screen appears to have been 'stretched', showing more of the frame and it can be seen quite clearly that Al actually spits out the piece of banana he just ate.
In the opening scene, Sally leaves and the camera pans to the dead body of Ralph Twice. You can briefly see Russell Shannon moving.
