Shadowy and inscrutable mystery shrouds the inexplicable case of Lord Brett's disappearance, since the day that he was knocked unconscious after offering a helping hand to a damsel in distress, somewhere in the English countryside. But to make matters worse, a bruised and perplexed Brett will find himself lying in a hospital bed with a serious case of concussion and a lot of blank spaces, only to be informed later by Danny that while in his seven-day absence, a perfect image who walks and talks like him has been acting as Brett's indistinguishable impersonator. Without a doubt, there must be something really important about Brett's face; an enigma somehow linked to Sam Milford, a reclusive and unreachable shipowner and one of Brett's oldest friends. However, the question remains: who would go to so much trouble learning Brett's gestures and mannerisms, and in addition, what has really occurred in the course of those seven missing days?
