Ray Hemphill and Jacqueline Scott in Perry Mason (1957)

Goofs

The Case of the Violent Village

Perry Mason

Edit

Continuity

The snow on the ground is obviously sand, this is noted when Mr. Teppler is digging to open his underground safe.

Factual errors

The murder happens on November 15, but the double-month display calendar on the wall where the murder occurs is turned to July/August of 1959.
On Perry's arrival in the town the folksy welcoming sign contains 2 errors, which should read "Anglers' (accurate plural possessive form) Capital" instead - like in "state capital" (place) vs "state capitol" (building).

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

When various phone calls are made, only 4 or 5 digits are dialed. UPDATE: This was common in smaller towns and cities across America at the time for calls within the same exchange. The phone in Perry's motel room has no dial at all. It was common for telephones in hotels and motels during that era to have no dial. To place an outbound call, lifting the handset would ring a PBX and the board's operator would put the call through.
At the end of the show, the characters are standing in the snow-covered woods, but no one's exhalation vapor is visible. UPDATE: The air temperature could be warm enough that a person's exhalations would not be visible.

Revealing mistakes

When Perry enters Tepper's store to question him, all the canned and boxed products on the shelves behind the counter are upside-down. An upside-down box of Ritz crackers is clearly visible.

Plot holes

Sheriff Norris investigates his own daughter's murder. This would never be permitted for obvious reasons: The San Bernardino County Sheriff's office would have been called in to perform the investigation.

Character error

Sheriff Norris tells Perry Mason that Phil Beecher has stolen the "bi-monthly" payroll, when he means bi-weekly.
