The murder weapon was a revolver. Tragg states that the police found an expended shell along with the gun at the scene of a suicide. Revolvers don't expend shells so that would have been a clear indication of something wrong with a suicide theory.
While testifying on the stand, Karl Kadar refers to the murder weapon, an American Smith and Wesson revolver, as a "standard European make".
After the murder, a 'fingerprint expert' (John Harmon) is shown erroneously brushing the top of the studio camera with multiple short strokes, as though painting it, and then shaking more dusting powder from the bottle onto the top of the camera. The proper technique is to dip the brush tip in the powder, tap the brush to dislodge loose powder, then twirl the brush tips lightly over the surface being inspected in a circular fashion.
When Mason shows a witness on the stand a group of photos of the fashion shoot, we are shown them in close up, of the girl in a bathing suit, and in full length shots showing the "beach" background and props, but when, now in long shot he retrieves the photos from the witness, it appears the one visible is a totally different photo, of a middle shot of a woman in an evening gown with a bright background.
The photograph on top is clearly the one that was printed later on, showing the defendant in a white coat, holding the gun. It was also the last photograph that Mason showed the witness, so naturally it would be on top.

The actor playing the murder victim is still breathing after his character is supposedly dead.
The police initially believe that the murder victim shot himself as an act of suicide, but the murder occurs on-camera and it is obvious that the fatal bullet must have entered the victim's chest under his right armpit, a most unlikely angle of entry for a self-inflicted gunshot.
