In the courtroom scene, when they show Phil Strague the picture that was taken of him, in that picture his watch is on his right wrist. However, in the scene in Doctor Blane's cabin, which took place later on the same day that the picture was taken, the watch is on Strague's left wrist. It can also be seen on his left wrist in the courtroom.
Perry, Della and Dr. Hardisty are in the cabin. Perry tells Della to call the sheriff. After she does so, she walks across the room and sits in the background behind Perry and Dr. Hardisty. Della and the room behind her are in focus, but Perry and Dr. Hardisty, in the foreground, are not. This continues when the sheriff arrives and he is out of focus.
The preliminary hearing is in Sierra City, County of Sierra, California. Both the town and the county are real, but the County Courthouse is in the county seat, Downieville.
