A harsh, cynical reporter survives the crash of a space shuttle. He walks through the fire. All others on board are killed. He is immediately placed in isolation and poked and prodded and intimidated by the authorities who have no answers. He eventually manages to escape and make contact with the wife of one of the dead crew members. He also comes to realize that there is some kind of force within him, guiding his life. It is this force that the military feels they must stop. It is once again about money and power. It seems that an benign alien presence was able to save the lives of both beings by using the reporter as a "vessel." However, time is running out and death is imminent. As usual, the people we would trust to act in our best interest are evil and destructive. Still, this is certainly above average.
