The events of this episode are mentioned in The Jolly Boys' Outing (1989), Time on Our Hands (1996), and Only Fools and Horses: Beckham in Peckham (2014). These episodes are what Rodney reminisces when Del has mistreated him (and Cassandra in 'the jolly boys outing' because she is involved in this too).
This holiday must have happened in either November 1988 or January 1989. Rodney's birthday being 2nd November "1974" making him 14 and he married Cassandra in February 1989. They weren't married at the point they went on the holiday.
This episode makes the first mention of Elsie Partridge, which foreshadows her appearance in the next episode, Sickness & Wealth (1989).
1,000,000 Spanish Peseta wouldn't have made them millionaires. When Spain changed to the Euro, there was 166 Pesetas to a Euro, so they would only have EUR6,024 around (2023 rates) £5,300.
Despite the episode being set in Majorca, this is one of the very few episodes of the series not to contain any location filming whatsoever. Remembering the unsuccessful attempts to have Bournemouth stand in for Benidorm in It Never Rains.... (1982), John Sullivan structured his script so that all the necessary locations could be created using studio sets.
