Roger's mentions trade with "China and Japan" The Dutch were the first Westerners to establish any type of trade with Japanese in 1609. The British follow shortly thereafter. But by 1638 all Christians in the county had been killed. Trade stropped and no westerners went back to Japan until Commodore Matthew Perry arrived and forced the Japanese to allow American ships to stop in Japan. This was long after the period of Rogers Rangers. Any type of trade with Japan would not even be thought about in North America in the early 18th century.
