- After long, cold, dark winter, Cicely is experiencing the spring thaw. The streets are full of mud. Joel's pants seem to be a magnet for puddle splashes from bikers and pickups. He is still doing fine and attributes his wellness to Maggie's warmth. When Maggie saves Dave the Cook from a falling sign, everyone begins to think the Maggie has healing and fixing powers. He'll pay the farmer $30 per hour to do so. He pulls his back while plowing and has to back off from the farming. Maurice has paid $5000 for a truffle-sniffing pig that he has Chris handle in the field. Not much is happening until the pig is warned with being butchered. Joel is suffering from mosquito bites, but Ruth-Anne is out of calamine lotion. He decides to make his own, but he is missing the ferric oxide needed for the recipe. As Holling is recline on the sofa disappointed that he did not get anything planted, Sheely comes to reassure him that he did. She's pregnant.—Garon Smith
- The snow is melting as spring comes to Cicely, as do the mosquitoes. But such is a time for celebration with the upcoming Mosquito Festival, for which Chris has bought a pig to root out truffles but who may end up as the main course at the festival. After saving Dave's life, curing Mike of his MCS and not getting bitten once by a mosquito, the Cicelians believe that Maggie has the gift of healing. Finally, Holling pays to sow seeds, something that he's obviously been doing well when Shelly announces that she's pregnant.
