Out of Character, Right Godfather?
Hitchcoc30 April 2024
Other than the regulars appearing in this episode, it was really an aberation. I know that our Dr. Capra has been dropped in to finish this show. He is generally an OK character. He has just seen a patient and as he goes to his car he smells spaghetti sauce. This leads to knowledge that there is an Italian community in Cicely. He gets giddy and visits an underground restaurant where he gets close to the owner. All well and good. Now we go to outer space. There is an ongoing feud with families from two areas in Italy who hate each other--the classic feud. He begins talking with an Italian accent and getting into it with the second family. He is making life miserable for his wife. In two other focuses, we have Holling's inability to tell Shelley when she does something that goes against his grain. Finally, Ruth Anne begins a storytelling thing on "All Things Considered" and it leads to unpredictable actions by people in the town.
