  Philip Benning : You stay away from me, Gates! I'll have no trouble pulling this trigger.

  Detective Stan Gates : Shoot a cop, Benning? Doesn't sound very smart... but say you want to be stupid and try. You see, it doesn't matter. I'm already dead.
