Kingdom's enquiry into a stolen car ring soon turns into a case of murder, suspected is the charismatic John Randall.
I wasn't hugely struck in this episode, I can't say I felt that it offered anything distinctive or hugely original, but it does have one unique selling point, a cracking performance by George Baker, who made John Randall a worthy adversary.
It's not particularly memorable, it lacks humour, it lacks a certain bite, but the conclusion presents a fairly satisfying moment.
The late, wonderful George Baker certainly had a prolific career, not many big shows from this time frame that he didn't appear it, some years til he'd land his own Detective show.
Look out for the wonderful Ruth Madoc also, playing Sergeant Bliss, a very early role for her, just after she did Under Milk Wood.
A bit slow, 6/10.
