The retired man and woman who replace Fran on The Rosie O'Donnell show are in fact Fran Drescher's real life parents.
When Grandma Yetta is telling Maxwell of the bad things that are going to happen to him because of her dream, she is confusing it with the Dick Van Dyke show. She looks to Brighton and says "here's Richie" and then sees herself in the mirror and says "there's Millie". In fact, the actress who plays Grandma Yetta, Ann Morgan Guilbert, was Millie on the Dick Van Dyke show.
Rosie O'Donnell was actually a fan of the show and is the one who had requested a cartoon intro for her talk show, from the same animators as those of The Nanny. Fran Drescher was a fan of Bewitched and had wanted a cartoon intro for her sitcom, just like in Bewitched.
Donald Trump was unhappy when he saw a draft of the script in which he was referred to as a millionaire. "We got a note from his people that said, 'Mr. Trump is not a millionaire. He's a billionaire, and he would like you to change the line,'" Drescher said in an article posted on her Cancer Schmancer's website. She didn't give in to his demand, and instead changed the line to "you, zillionaires," which is how it appeared in the show. The reason for the new line is due to Maxwell Sheffield being only a millionaire, therefore "you, billionaires" would not have been fitting here.
On occasion, the costumer liked to color-coordinate random characters' clothes when appearing together. In one such scene featuring them both, Sylvia wears a zebra print blouse, in the same pattern and B&W colors as Fran's skirt suit. In another, when arriving at Maxwell's house, Sylvia is wearing a low-cut, scoop neck tee in bright lime green, and Yetta is wearing pants in the exact same lime green and a chiffon cardigan patterned in brown and lime green.
