Wow--There's a Reason to Watch Next Season
Hitchcoc14 September 2021
Much of the show centers around a man in a wheelchair who is keeping the squad from finding his brother. Several minority killings have taken place. But Sipowicz smells things out. Beyond that there is a threat to the precinct from the overzealous IAD guy. Andy and Connie are planning on marrying at the end of the day, but something happens that makes it interesting.

Cry Us A River!

Warning: Spoilers
Just when you thought that everything had pretty much been wrapped up, several plot-points are dropped the will carry over into next season and beyond.

First off, we have a man masquerading as a Gulf War vet. I'm with Sipowicz in his rage at someone pretending to be vet. There aren't many things as disrespectful to those who serve and give their lives than someone who pretends to be one. This fool cries and complains about having to take care of his brother as well as his murderous rage at those he blames for putting him in his situation. Only cowards cry out "victim" and this guy certainly fits the bill.

Rita Ortiz is acting like a high school girl again around Clark. She truly is an immature and pathetic character, even going so far as to request a transfer because she simply can't handle it. I wish that Connie might have told her to just grow up! However, she finally gets her one, pivotal moment when she saves Lt. Rodriguez.

Aside from Andy and Connie trying to get their wedding off the ground, the cream of the episode--and one that very few saw coming--was Captain Fraker finally losing all grip on reality when he blames Tony and Sipowicz for getting caught in an affair.

A great way to end the season and carry things over into Season 11 when things between Clark and his new girlfriend will shake things up far more than anyone realizes!

"22 Skidoo"

Tremendous drama - a season finale for the ages.

No spoilers here.

It's fair to say that NYPD Blue has had some tragic and jaw-dropping moments over it's now-ten season run, and the events that took place at the end of "22 Skidoo" are right up there for shock value, and leave one of the 15th precinct's own in hospital and fighting for their life.

The fact that what happened came pretty much out of nowhere was what made it such a shock. Things weren't great between the two characters involved, and they seemed like they were destined to only get worse...but you didn't - or, at least, I didn't, anyway - expect what happened. Didn't see it coming, not even as a remote possibility.

(At least we have seen the back of a character I'm sure no NYPD Blue fan liked, but have we also seen the back of a character most NYPD Blue fans loved?)

The end of "22 Skidoo" was one of those TV moments where I found myself picking my jaw up off the floor.
