Although this episode is a bit racist against Asians (as every episode with the Hoos in it seems to be), it's kind of amusing. However, it leads to a massive plot hole... What happened to this business which was apparently on its way to becoming a huge success and "the beginning of a beautiful friendship." (According to Michael Kyle at the end of the episode.) ??? After this episode Jay's Soul Food is never mentioned again and she just goes back to being a psych student. So what happened to it? Did they sell it? Did it go bust? Do they still own it but it's no longer a "family business?" For some reason this loose end really bugs me. It's like a bit from The Simpsons or Family Guy where they do something life changing in an episode and then everything goes back to normal like it never happened. For the most part My Wife and Kids has reasonable plot continuity, so this episode is a bit ridiculous in that respect. Maybe it was just lazy writing?
