Murphy in the morning? Nah, it'll never work.

Warning: Spoilers
With the show on hiatus due to a preemption involving a miniseries, Murphy and Corky are assigned to a Morning Show that is more feature reporting than news reporting. Murphy is not too happy especially when she realizes the type of topics she's going to have to cover, involving the creation of a children's book that she considers misogynistic. After a snarky interview with the author, she gets involved in an argument with a temperamental award-winning chef (played by Marge Redmond of "The Flying Nun") which threatens to turn physical from both parties. There are some inside jokes concerning other news media personalities as well as the presence of a diva like weatherman who had hoped he would be able to take over as anchor for the week. He's a combination of Paul Lynde and Allen Sues, so there's plenty to laugh at. Alan Oppenheimer makes another appearance as the studio owner. A very funny episode that shows thatcertain types of news shows need certain types of anchors, and Murphy is not one for frivolous nonsense. Great end of the first season shows that this sitcom has what it takes to go down in the hall of great television, not to mention great situation comedy, taking it out of the family home.
