"Hi Lucy, where's Ethel?" Frank asks when Murphy shows up at Washington's only all men's club, determined to get in, not about to take no for an answer. Regardless of the attitude towards clubs catering to one specific gender, Murphy is fighting for something she believes she deserves to have the power to win, and she asked Jim to sponsor her, something his conservative side can't handle. Jim has his point of view and Murphy has hers, so no one really is wrong other than the desire to see the end of a long-standing tradition. Ritch Brinkley is very funny as Carl whose large size doesn't mean that he lacks sensitivity. Both genders show immaturity in their arguments as well, and especially with Jim and Murphy when they try to do a news broadcast together, their frustrations with each other emerge. There really are no right or wrong answers, which is the way life works sometimes, but at least Jim and Murphy don't allow this to damage their friendship which is obviously special. It's nice to see a conflict like this dealt with humor and understanding, and Murphy really discovers that some leagues aren't worth practicing all summer to get into. One thing is clear once you get to know some of the members of the club, I wouldn't want to be a member of it either.
