When Shang Tsung's sorcery prematurely ages Siro and Taja, Kung Lao risks all of the Earth realm to save them.

Kung Lao and Co. are at a monk retreat. Master Chen takes a drink from Kung Laos water bottle thing, and dies. The monks tell Kung Lao it must be sorcerrey. Vorpax is the one who poisoned the bottle, and it was meant for Kung Lao. Siro and Taja head back to the trading post and they drank from the bottle and they too are aging. One of the monks tells Kung Lao to head to the living forest to meet a witch who can save them. Kung Lao grabs a potion from her and heads back to where he left his friends, but Shang Tsung is there and he tells Kung Lao to waive the rights to Mortal Kombat and fight him, for his friends lives. He fights him, but while attending to his friends Shang Tsung heads back to the mines injured. Raiden appears and lightning bolts Kung Lao for risking Earthrealm for two humans.
