Plot

Taja and Jen conspire to free a condemned Kung Lao from the Baron's gallows, and Scorpion possesses the body of Jen's new bodyguard. Kung Lao accepts his destiny to protect the Earth Realm from the forces of Outworld while training a new generation of warriors for Mortal Kombat. Second of a two-part episode.

Kung Lao defeats Shang Tsung in front of Shao Kahn to save Earth realm from being taken over by Outworld. Shao Kahn tells Kung Lao to finish Tsung, but he doesnt and grants him mercy. This embarrasses Shao Kahn and he sends Tsung as an outcast to the cobalt mines of Shokan. Kung Laos gf, Jen, wants to surprise him at the Temple Of The Order Of Light with a gift, so this guy named Siro tags along with her. They are stopped by thieves whom Siro defeats. Kung Lao wants to propose to Jens father the B aron. The Baron denies his request because he cant afford to take care of his daughter and is about to have him punished when Siro comes to his rescue and says Kung Lao saved them from the thieves earlier in the day. The Baron grants him a pardon, but warns him if he comes back hell die. Down in the mines some girl tells Tsung shell help him get revenge on Kung Lao. She shows him a scorpion, and with his powers, he unlocks the spirit in the scorpion and it falls on Earthrealm and lands in Takeda, whom Kung Lao had beaten so he could sneak in the trading post and grab Jen . Siro sees Kung Lao and tells him to hurry up. The scorpion goes inside of Takeda and he is now different and fights Kung Lao and the Baron sees it, and promotes him to his loyal servant. Kung Lao is scheduled to be executed the following morning. Taja; the thief who was captured earlier is wakened in her cell by a dirty old man who hints at rescuing Kung Lao. She and Jen rescue him, and run away. In the woods Siro who had been banished gets visited by Raiden who tells him hes a lowly beggar and calls him out saying he quit on the girl, and he should hurry up and get his job back. Taja and Kung Lao are about to sneak out and grab his girl, when they bump into Siro. Siro tells them about a beggar he saw, and Taja says she saw the same beggar, and Kung Lao tells them its Raiden the God of Thunder. They go to Jens room and find out its a trap and Takeda tries to take Kung Laos soul for Shang Tsung, and everyone witnesses it, and the Baron tells Takeda to stop, but he is pushed back onto a shield of spikes, and Takeda takes off with Jen. Kung Lao asks Raiden where Jen is, and he tells him at the temple. Siro Taja and Kung Lao head to the temple of light, and Takeda who is now Scorpion puts a spell on two guards to take out Siro and the thief while Kung Lao takes off for Jen whom he sees tied up. He fights Scorpion eventually defeating him, and the ground opens up to show hell, and Scorpion gets swallowed up by it. Jen ends up dying after she gets hit with a fire blast from Scorpion. Shang Tsung and the woman he meets in Shokan create another plan to defeat Kung Lao, while Kung Lao and friends head off for adventures.
