Episode 19 has greedy treasure hunting couple Tom and Vanessa out in the middle of a desert village. Tom dreams off making as much money as possible by ripping the locals off of all there valuable goods, but, Vanessa just wants to leave the place as shes to self centered about her looks in the dry environment. Tom gets a gift one day by one of the village women, a small statue that the natives used to worship for rain. At first Tom thinks he's found the ultimate prize, but, it's revealed that the statue needs a sacrifice for more rain to come.
Richard Friedman who directed campy horror flicks like "Doom Asylum" (1987), "Phantom of the Mall: Eric's Revenge" (1989), and "Dark Wolf" (2003) makes his debut in his only "Monsters" episode. For me the only real thing going for this episode is the creature itself the little rain dance monster statue thing. It looks genuinely creepy and when it actually starts to move towards the end it looks pretty nice for what probably was a little person in a costume. As for everything else the story is pretty predictable and routine, you know as soon as these two talk there going to get it in the end, as for the two both Kent McCord (of Adam-12 fame) and Teri Copley are annoying as hell in this, good thing is though both there deaths as for the conclusion is pretty fun and memorable. And overall enjoyable episode at least for the fun creature itself.
