- Helena: [on the phone] I wish I could be there, but I've got a job to do here. Alright, I'll talk with you later.
- [hangs up]
- Joe Negri: Are you alright, Helena?
- Helena: I am, but my little boy isn't.
- Joe Negri: Oh, is he sick?
- Helena: The babysitter just called to say he was really screaming, and I tried to talk with him, but he wouldn't stop.
- Joe Negri: Does he do that often?
- Helena: No, this is the first time.
- Joe Negri: I think you should go home, Helena.
- Helena: Oh I'd like that, but I also want to do my job for you.
- Joe Negri: First thing's first. You're a wonderful worker, but I think Matthew needs you at home right now more than this store does.
- Helena: Oh, thank you so much, Joe. I wasn't sure whether or not you would feel that way.
- Joe Negri: There's one thing about this neighborhood: families and children come first. How about it, Mr. Rogers?
- Mr. Rogers: Sure seems that way with you right now. Incidentally, if you could use an extra hand, I'd be glad to stay for a while.
- Princess Zelda: [In the "C" room] Oh, a clarinet... That makes music all by itself. It doesn't need me. Oh, look at the vegetables.
- Handyman Negri: Yeah, look at those.
- Princess Zelda: Here's a cabbage, here's some corn; oh, and here's my favorite: cauliflower. Look at that!
- Handyman Negri: Isn't that beautiful?
- Princess Zelda: Oh, and look at the clarrots.
- [Chuckles]
- Princess Zelda: Clarrots. The carrots.
- Mr. Rogers: It's really hard to go to work when you have a child at home.
- Joe Negri: Oh, that's for sure.
- Mr. Rogers: You are a very generous person to do what you did for Helena.
- Joe Negri: Well, I know how I like people to treat me, and I know how much she cares for her child and her job..
- Prince Tuesday: You're always working, Daddy.
- King Friday XIII: I do work a great deal, son, and so will you when you're a king.
- Prince Tuesday: Yes, but I'm just a boy now.
- King Friday XIII: Correct, and you have a fine teacher in Handyman Negri.
- Prince Tuesday: I'm mad because my mom and dad work all the time.
- Princess Zelda: And you want to be with them more.
- Prince Tuesday: That's for sure.
- Princess Zelda: And you don't like it.
- Prince Tuesday: That's for sure.
- Mr. Rogers: Parents work because they want to be able to take care of their children, but that's hard for some children to understand. How do you deal with the things that you don't like? Do you talk about them? Draw about them? Play about them? Cing about them? If you canafter a while, you can feel better about them, and that can be a real good feeling.
