Peter Graves in Mission: Impossible (1966)

Goofs

The Question

Mission: Impossible

Edit

Continuity

When Coleman is chasing the ambulance, they pass the same spot twice, with a white building in the background and a blue car parked on the right side.
Andrea and Coleman go down a street past a Gulf Oil station on their right. The tracking display shows them making a right turn, and Jim says they are heading East on Commonwealth. Right after that they are coming back up the street they were on before, with the same Gulf Oil station on their left.
Though Lynda Day George is shown in the opening credits, she does not appear.

Revealing mistakes

All of the street scenes are shot in Los Angeles, except the assassination attempt which is shot at the San Francisco City Hall.
Obvious stunt double for Peter Graves during fight scene at 48:50.
The assassin is in a building across the street from San Francisco City Hall. The building Jim climbs to reach the assassin, however, actually is City Hall.
The stunt man for Phelps in the final fight scene has hair that is about 2 inches longer than Peter Graves, which makes it very obvious that it's a double. Using someone with the proper length hair might have gone unnoticed, but this stands out horribly.

Crew or equipment visible

When Andrea is carried out of the bedroom, studio set walls are visible above.

Character error

When Andrea says their gas tank is half full, you can see the gas gauge and it reads over 3/4 of a tank.
