One of the good ones

Although I miss Landau and Bain from the original team, this episode is one of the best for year 4. The team needs to get the number for a bank account holding Nazi money to be used to finance a new reich. The man is spirited away on a "submarine" and eventually made to reveal the bank number.

An episode that is well crafted and moves right along. The kidnapping scheme is excellent with the use of two "monks" and two trucks. Ramon Bieri's laugh at the end of the show is a nice touch. He was an underrated actor. One of several appearances for Lee Meriwether as the same character on the team. Maybe the series was using several women as guest stars to see if one could replace Barbara Bain. I like Lee but I can see Lynda Day George winning the audition but how Leslie Ann Warren ended up on the team is beyond me. However, that is all in the future. Enjoy the episode.

What "M:i" should be

A former SS man being released from prison knows the number of a Swiss bank account full of Nazi loot. Jim and the gang have to find out the number and get there first.

But to get there the must persuade him he's . . . No, I won't give that away.

Lee Meriwether takes on the "revolving door" female role this time. Fine. It's well known she wanted the gig permanently and she probably should have gotten it.

The set-up is wonderful, the execution, flawless. The last scene is priceless and ranks among my favorite climaxes. But to tell ANYTHING would kill it. Let's just say anyone who sticks with this superb episode won't be disappointed.
