The all-"New Wave" episode of "The Midnight Special"
OK, I'm a poser for rating it 10, because I never actually saw it. All I remember is missing it. Which was a bummer, because The Cars were my favorite band at the time, and I was just getting into that whole punk rock thing. The Cars had been asked to appear on Midnight Special, which at the time was more pop, and they said no unless they could host it and choose the rest of the guests. The show's producers said OK. Whoever owns the rights should really make this available ASAP, 'cause this looks pretty great:
Guests (performing live): --The Cars - "Let's Go," "Moving in Stereo," "Candy-O," "The Dangerous Type," Got a Lot on My Head" & "Nightspots" --Suicide - "Dream, Baby Dream" (later covered by Bruce Springsteen on his 2005 solo tour) and "Ghost Rider" --The Records - "Starry Eyes," "Teenarama," "Affection Rejected," "All Messed Up and Ready to Go" Music Videos (Promotional clips): --M - "Pop Muzik" --Iggy Pop - "Five Foot One" & "I'm Bored" --Lene Lovich - "Lucky Number" & "Say When"
