Dumped by Dorothy for her new boyfriend Jamie Gary is extremely depressed and the noisy love-making of Tony and his girlfriend Jill does not help. When Deborah and her new man invite Dorothy and Jamie to dinner Gary tries to counter with a party of his own but nobody turns up and the food is the left-overs from the pub. Drunk and desperate Gary crashes the party upstairs, making a fool of himself, and has to be rescued by Tony - though, since Jill has left him because he will not throw out his girlie magazines - Tony ends up getting even drunker with Gary.—don @ minifie-1

Dumped by Dorothy for her new beau Jamie, Gary feels depressed and Tony's noisy love-making with girlfriend Jill does not help. Deborah and her boyfriend Peter throw a dinner party for Dorothy and Jamie and a jealous Gary holds one of his own but the food is left-overs from the pub, nobody shows up for it and he makes a fool of himself by drunkenly crashing Deborah's evening. Tony has a new girlfriend from his enterprising new busking job and is winding Gary up with his constant love-making. However, Tony's new lady soon gets upset when she discovers his pornographic magazine collection and demands he gets rid of them.

Gary is still reeling from his split with Dorothy and upon hearing Debs is holding a sophisticated dinner party and has invited Dorothy and her new man Jamie, Gary decides to hold his own party, with disastrous consequences.
