Parker is engaged!
kfo949413 November 2014
In this routine script, the Navy needs a treaty from a nearby island Chief to build a runway where planes can land. The problem with this island is that it is occupied by savage tribesman called head-hunters. The Admiral tells Binghamton to get the treaty signed but when he hears the words head-hunters, he thinks it may be a job for McHale.

So McHale and his crew make it to the island where the local Chief is none to happy to oblige the navy. But when a solar eclipse happens, the Chief believes that Ensign Parker is some kind of powerful witch-doctor. The Chief will sign the treaty but only if Parker remains with the tribe and marries one of his women. Parker is engaged.

There is nothing remarkable concerning this script. The story is an old tale that has been around since the printing-press. The writers did try to insert an uncommon ending to the story but all that did was make the story even less desirable. The only bright spot of the show was when Gruber was doing his magic tricks. For some reason, every time Carl Ballantine does his magic routine, either on the show or at another venue, it always brings a smile to the viewer's face. But other than Gruber, this show was just average.
