At the end, Howard says that Tanya lives on a small family farm outside of Moscow. However, in the Soviet Union there were no family farms as owning property was illegal in a communist society. Rural farmers were allowed to grow a small patch of crops around their farmhouse, but all farmers worked on giant collective state owned farms.
