The Final Maude Musical
Jimmy_the_Gent411 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Maude puts on a telethon to help a little girl Baby Sally, a tap dancer who suddenly got a mysterious illness that put her in a wheelchair.

The last and one of the funniest and wackiest of musical shows. Terry Kiser plays a shady "adviser" of the telethon who is charging a $15.000 fee. It turns out it is all a scam and the child can walk and dance. Some of the musical numbers are Carol doing a version of Peggy Lee's "Fever" and Maude trying a heart tugging version of "Smile". The bratty kid bites her and runs over her foot with her wheelchair. It ends up with pie fight and Maude saves the last pie for Baby Sally.

I enjoyed the episode. The cast has abundant of stage and musical talent. However, the IMBD plot description isn't totally accurate. The stars of the show help to create a telethon for a little girl who was a tap dancer but was somehow injured and ended up in a wheelchair. The child heard some dance music right before the telethon began. She jumped out of her wheelchair and began dancing. Maude and the man hired by the community to bring the event together clash over whether to come clean about the girl's newly discovered healthy condition. Joyfully messy ending.
