It's one of my all-time favorite episodes of Matlock next to the ones featuring Don Knotts and Andy Griffith together. Peppard was STILL on his game even though he was towards the end of his life ultimately. The P. I. had the makings of a potentially great t.v. Series.

Notable for being George Peppard's last TV appearance before he passed. It's a pilot spinoff attempt.

Well, basically there's no Matlock episode. This is a spinoff attempt.
I liked George Peppard. I always thought he was a handsome charming older gent. Here, he's kind of a down-on-his-luck charming PI who is reconnecting with his daughter whom he hasn't seen since she was little. I suppose this had potential. It wasn't bad at all.
But it's 30 years later, and I'm only interested in seeing Matlock. Ben was only there for about a minute at the beginning. So I would say skip it if you are doing a rewatch and just want to see Matlock. If you're a fan of George Peppard from the A-Team and other works and would like to see him in his last television role, then go for it. Like I said it wasn't bad at all. Just no Matlock. 5/10.
