Writers strike? Shenandoah finds himself in jail.
pensman3 October 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Shenandoah is jailed almost immediately for the murder of Mathew Eldridge done four years earlier. It's obvious this is one off kilter town, starting with Sheriff Healy who seems to have no desire to learn anything about Shenandoah; he just wants to hang him. And as soon as we see Cliff Eldridge, the son of the murdered man, we know he's guilty. Why? He's played by Woodrow Parfey who seemed to have made a career by playing suspicions and usually guilty parties. Doesn't help that Louise Latham plays Cliff's sister Cora as she too tended to find her own offbeat characters and roles.

Cora frees Shenandoah from jail and from then on he tries to get to those people who seem to have an interest in seeing Shenandoah found guilty for a crime he didn't do. Eventually Shenandoah confronts Cora Eldridge to find out what happened. Shenandoah did know the murdered man and was with him prior to his being murdered: but as it turns out Matthew Eldridge killed himself because of personal shame: he had gone bankrupt, and Cora and Cliff just wanted to preserve their father's reputation by claiming he had been robbed and murdered.

A poor episode. When we see Shenandoah with Matthew Eldridge, Shenandoah is well dressed and obviously doing some business with Eldridge. Shenandoah had to be staying somewhere, so someone (s) had to have interacted with him so someone should at least know his name. And the man Shenandoah was seeking in the town? That man is supposedly dead. As I wrote: a poor episode.
