Get ready to rumba!

When Naomi recognizes one of the wrestlers from the ladies of wrestling on television as an old friend, she gets her friend to come to dinner. It turns out that she might have to forfeit because her wrestling partner had an injury. Naomi resist but decides to help her friend out by being her wrestling partner. Naomi and her friend are fine until her friend suffers an injury and Mama comes in. You can imagine how Mama looks in the hideous costume and wrestles with the big girls from the wrestling. This episode is your typical Mama's Family fare with the family and Iola who are interested in the ladies' wrestling. It was popular in syndication at the same time that Mama's Family was in syndication. I don't know the story behind this episode but I remember watching the ladies wrestling in Saturday afternoon and watching Mama's Family in the early evening on Saturday.

Mistakenly thought it would be a big dud.

Written by Aunt Effie (Dorothy Van). I thought it'd be a time waster capitalizing on the 80s wresting craze. Generic set-up of the story. But, when knockout gorgeous Didi Mason (Spice Williams-Crosby) visits the Harper's for supper the laughs begin non-stop until the end. The episode had all the writings on the wall to be a stinker. But, they pulled if off masterfully. The scene at the wresting arena is one of the series' funniest. Bit of borrowing from (The Bevetly Hillbillies) when Granny (Irene Ryan) wipes the floor with the "Boston Strong Girl ". Vicki Lawrence and Dorothy Lyman were hilarious paired against the behemoth "Mabels".
