Storyline
Plot Summary |
Maigret is called to investigate a murder in a small village near to La Rochelle, the victim being old Jeanne, shot through her window. She was the local post mistress with access to everyone's mail and knew everyone's secrets. The main suspect is a married school-teacher but the local doctor explains to Maigret that this is chiefly because he has come from Paris and the village resents in-comers. A chat with two school-boys puts Maigret in the right direction. Written by don @ minifie-1 |

Did You Know?
Goofs | At the end of the episode when Maigret returns to the village train station to go back to Paris, as the scene ends the camera pans to a shot of some wooden crates on the platform that clearly contain oysters (the top crates are open, showing oysters on ice). This is a bit of ironic humor, as Maigret has repeatedly tried to sample the "famous" local seafood during his time there, but has not been successful, much to his disappointment. However, the identical crates of oysters are present and in exactly the same position on the platform when Maigret arrives from Paris. The camera doesn't focus in on them, but they're clearly visible. See more » |
