- A deaf woman witnesses a bank robbery where four people are murdered. Magnum agrees to act as her bodyguard after the murderer is released on bail.
- Linda Andrews, an internationally renowned deaf painter, is hanging one of her works in a Hawaiian Islands bank when two men burst in and demand money at gunpoint. The robbers shoot everyone upon leaving, but miss Andrews in a back room. Carol lures Magnum into a meeting with her on a pretext and asks him to protect Andrews, the sole witness and survivor of the shooting. Magnum protests, but relents when he meets Andrews while she is identifying the shooter from a police lineup. Magnum takes her to Robin's Nest, where Higgins is delighted to meet the famous artist. The situation turns more serious when one of the robbers, Jack Wilkins, makes bail. With Wilkins' attorneys suspecting there may be a witness, Carol asks Magnum to keep an eye on Wilkins. While Magnum investigates the whereabouts of Wilkins, Andrews and Higgins spend time together painting. But when Andrews glimpses a television newscast featuring a photo of her as the mysterious witness, she decides to leave the estate. In the meantime, Magnum has managed to make contact with an associate of Wilkins. When he returns, however, he discovers that Andrews has disappeared from the estate. Now Magnum must track down Andrews before Wilkins can get to her and eliminate the only witness to the bank massacre.—Christopher D.
