Raphael says that sometimes serving Paolo isn't the same as serving his father. He tells Chris that he owes Paolo's father his life, and that means he does what is required.
Inez goes to the church and talks to Buck as he leaves. She tells him that he can't beat Paolo, and that he's be a live man if he steps aside and lets Paolo take her. Inez says that if Buck dies, she'd be responsible and she can't live with that. Buck tells her that he doesn't know Paolo but he's known man like him. Later, Josiah asks J.D. if his "date" went well. J.D. wonders if Casey will ever talk to him, and Josiah advises him that he should buy Casey a frog-digger.
Raphael prepares to ride out of town, and stops to tell Chris that he could grow fond of a place like Four Corners. He figures that Paolo's father will put a price on his head, and he's going to find six friends of his own. Raphael invites Chris to join him, and Chris smilingly refuses. J.D. comes over with a frog-digger, and Raphael tells Chris that they will never know who is the fastest. Chris grabs J.D.'s bowler, tosses it in the air, and shoots it repeatedly in mid-air. Raphael congratulates Chris, laughs, and rides off. Chris tells J.D. that he needed a new bowler anyway. J.D. shoots his bowler in the street once, smiles, and walks away.
Nathan tends to Buck, then tells him that he'll have to take it easy for a while. Buck asks if he gets a piece of the money won in the betting, and Ezra jokingly asks if Buck wants to fight him for it. Inez says that he has no idea, and Buck says that if she wants to make it up to him then she should go out with him. She kisses him enthusiastically and Nathan, watching, chuckles. Inez tells an astonished Buck that they're even and walks off.
