- Macgyver and four youths are stranded in the wilderness after their plane crashes. Gang rivalries among the youth escalate an already precarious situation.
- Mac is not amused when Peter fixes the Phoenix Foundation flight simulator to crash just before he actually takes a bunch of troubled youths camping by airplane, without any budget. Their regular counselor takes reinforcements as an insult and splits; Mac wins some respect by his ingenious bush cooking skills. The pilot who is returning the party a few days later gets a heart attack, so they crash in the wilderness. The rebellious ruffians (3 guys and one girl) prove quite a handful to get out of trouble - most of which they keep creating - even with macgyverisms, but a serious grudge between gang leaders and a medical emergency really push Mac's resourcefulness to the limit, but at least now they all pull together...—KGF Vissers
- Mac is not amused when Pete fixes the Phoenix Foundation flight simulator to crash with him at the controls just before he actually takes on a quartet of troubled youths. He is delivered to a wilderness airstrip via a small airplane. Their regular counselor, who has no wilderness savvy, takes reinforcements as an insult and split. Mac wins some respect by his ingenious bush cooking skills (brownies), coaxing a snake out of a warm sleeping bag with a glowing piece of the campfire, and rescuing the young man who takes a tumble right next to a feeding mountain lion. A few days later, as the pilot is taking MacGyver and the four teens back, he suffers a heart attack. MacGyver is barely able to land the plane, although the front tire is shredded by the rough terrain. Two of the young men are from rival gangs, and one believes the other killed his brother. They prove quite a handful to keep out of trouble. But one is suffering from a ruptured spleen. Mac's resourcefulness is pushed to the limit as to how he can get the plane back into the air before the youth dies from his injuries. Now they must all pull together if the plane will fly again. Mac helps clear a misconception about the brother's death. He then carves a wooden ski out of a short log segment while the other three set up a 300-yard runway with a mud trench down the middle of it to accommodate the ski. It is not pretty, but it works. Mac takes off with the injured youth and will send a chopper back for the other three.—Garon Smith
