When Hawkeye and BJ are going through Charles's footlocker, BJ wraps a scarf around his neck. After Charles discovers them, there is a shot of Hawkeye and BJ, but this time the scarf is draped over BJ's neck. Then, finally, when Charles tells them to look in the outgoing mail for the spy's letter, the scarf is wrapped again around BJ's neck.
At one point Charles tells Colonel Potter, "The first open-heart surgery in medical history has just been done successfully." This operation took place on May 6, 1953. However, the episode takes place on the day of the Kentucky Derby, which in 1953 was run on May 2.
When Charles is leaving Potter's office he has a medical magazine in his hands. It shows 3 CT images. One can clearly see both kidneys because they have contrast material in it. But the first CT image of a man was made in 1971, 20 years after Korea war.
