He Never Stops Vibrating
Hitchcoc16 March 2015
On a cold evening, a group of nurses need their stove fixed. They go to the Swamp to get Hawkeye. As he lights the balking heater, it explodes in his face and he is blinded. The episode centers around his frenetic efforts to deal with the possibility that he may be permanently blind. While in the hospital he hooks up with another sightless guy. His loss happened when a grenade exploded in front of him. Now Hawkeye must wait several days to find out if his blindness is permanent. The hard part of this is watching Hawkeye bouncing around from place to place, never allowing himself time to think. There are some interesting "sight" gags along the way. It is an episode that gives us an opportunity to think about our own vulnerability.

More than meets the eye...

an interesting episode, in which Hawkeye temporarily loses his sight, but that doesn't stop him from seeing..in fact he sees better without sight...This storyline could get a bit maudlin but is turned sideways by a practical joke designed to put a cheating Frank burns in his place once and for all.

Tom Sullivan makes a guest appearance as a fellow sightless vet who helps Hawkeye "see" that all that glitters isn't what's really important. Brief character change for Hawkeye who becomes a bit more cerebral than cynical in this episode. Frank, the insensitive dolt gets his comeuppance in a creative way... one of the better 5th season entries.

Hawkeye's sight is at stake

Warning: Spoilers
I chuckled at prolific IMDb reviewer Hitchcoc's review title "He Never Stops Vibrating". Hawkeye learns to value his eye sight, which he temporarily lost when attempting to fix the gas heater in the nurse's tent. This episode also has Frank getting his comeuppance in baseball bets.
