- A little wave of jealousy ripples through O.R.: Ferret Face heckles Margaret about her absent fiance, no engagement ring and their "no wedding date" engagement. Margaret calls Donald on the radio phone and tells him what Frank said about them. Lt. Col. Penobscott (Beeson Carroll) rushes to the 4077. Frank finds out and rushes to Potter to ask for a 2 weeks leave. Potter refuses.
Donald arrives at the 4077th MASH and meets the entire team, who was out playing basketball in the compound. Mulcahy comments that Donald and Houlihan are a nice looking couple. Donald a strapping young man. Donald announces to the team that he and Houlihan have decided to get married as soon as possible. He is due back in Tokyo in 48 hrs. Radar tells Donald all the forms he needs to fill up with Houlihan to make the wedding legit in the eyes of the US Govt. Donald says he wants to talk to Frank. Frank runs and trips over. He promises Donald that he never touched Margaret and that all rumors are false (all he did was played chess, made chains out of rubber bands and baked pussycat cookies at Christmas). Donald wants Frank to be their best man since only because of Frank's remarks, Margaret pressed Donald for marriage..
The couple asks Father Mulcahy to marry them and all of the officers are thrilled but, Frank has a case of the runs. Klinger bakes the wedding cake. The nurses give Margaret a pre-wedding party and Klinger crashes, bearing a touching gift. Klinger brings her a wedding dress that he wanted his own daughter to wear one day. His uncle Zack used it to get out of WW I.
The guys throw Donald's Stag Smoker in The Swamp...all parties are beyond drunk and filled with jocularity. Even Frank is drunk and asks what makes Donald deserving of Houlihan. Potter orders him to go to sleep. The Swamp Rats want a special surprise for Margaret...but how can they wrap Donald like a present? So, BJ and Hawk cover Donald in a plaster from chest to toe and tell him he broke his leg when he fell unconscious after his drinks the previous night. Houlihan punches a hole in her tent when she finds out and Donald has to attend his own wedding in a bathing robe over his plaster. Margaret is a radiant bride in white, on the arm of Colonel Potter and Klinger is resplendent in lilac; even Hawkeye is clad in his Class A uniform.
A helicopter and truck cut the ceremony short. Mulcahy rushes the couple through the ceremony as the entire unit rushes to attend to the wounded, including Houlihan. Houlihan does triage in her wedding dress. After O.R., the happy couple is put on a helicopter to Tokyo. Margaret is so, so happy, she even hugs Frank. The Swamp Rats try to tell the new bride about their little joke.
Frank is the last one at the chopper pad, waving Margaret farewell.
