Goofs

For Want of a Boot

M*A*S*H

Edit

Continuity

In this show Frank's birthday is in the dead of winter but in Season 5's "Most Unforgettable Characters" his birthday seems to be on a fairly warm spring day.
In the Swamp, Hawkeye finds a birthday card for Frank pinned to the tent post. He takes the card down and opens it, sits on his cot with the card opened, and then opens the card again.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

In the following episode "Operation Noselift" they have to bring in a specialist for a nose job. But in this episode Hawkeye offers Klinger a nose job for his hair dryer.

Hawkeye only offers Klinger a nosejob (in the midst of a series of crazy barters whose horizon holds a good pair of boots); he doesn't actually do it, nor does he say that it would be himself who would perform the surgery.

Revealing mistakes

Lt. Murphy is tired of having wet hair, but a close look at her hair, it's always dry.

Crew or equipment visible

Just before Frank and Margaret enter the Mess Tent for Maj. Burns' party, a silhouette of a stage hand can been seen throwing leaves into the "wind" outside the right hand tent flap.

Character error

Klinger's discharge form requires four officers to sign; Klinger says it's no use because Burns and Houlihan would never sign; however, all the nurses are officers, as is Father Mulcahy, any of whom could presumably sign.
