The first horse shown has a wide blaze (when they first arrive and when BJ lassos Hawkeye). The horse Radar rescues has a narrow irregular blaze. The horse getting a shot has the narrow blaze, as does the one Radar brings into Potter's office. The one Potter rides at the end has a wide blaze.
Two horses were obviously used in the rescue scene. The horse that "gives Hawkeye the eye" has a pink nose and the horse Radar puts the rope around has a black nose.
During this episode, the horse that Radar gives to Col. Potter is repeatedly referred to as a male. Future episodes refer to the horse as female, including the horse's name, "Sophie."
Col. Potter's sculpture is never seen again in his office or tent.
Mr Cho's hat keeps swapping round note the bow it starts out in the right when he is in major Houlahan's tent but in the left when he is in the office,
When the horse kicks several holes into the supply shed, the "legs" are just wooden poles disguised as horse's legs - one has broken off, with the hoof hanging limply from the fur cover.
It seems that, at first, Col. Potter only told Radar it was his anniversary. Hawkeye and B.J. act surprised when told, yet Burns and Hoolihan barge into his office to take Potter's photo for an anniversary gift sculpture. How did they know when everyone else didn't?
When the movie breaks down and goes off screen it shows that there is more than one sprocket hole per frame. The projector Klinger is running is a 16mm film projector. 16mm film only has one sprocket hole per frame.
When the sculptor points out the 2x4, it is the size of a 2x4 at the time of filming (3½ x 1½). Before 1964 2x4's were actually 2 inches by 4 inches.
At about 19 minutes into the show, when Hawkeye and BJ go to the motor pool to talk to Radar about the horse, the horse handling crew behind Radar is visible as he moves off the left side of the screen after a closeup shot of him talking.
When Hawkeye and BJ hold a door closed and the horse kicks through it, you can see a crew members hand holding the fake wooden horse legs as they break the doors down.
It's never explain how they got the horse back to the 4077 Radar asks the horse if he wants to ride in the truck but the rear is too high and it's doubtful 1 of them rode the horse back to camp,
