Lucy Meets JFK
kgraovac30 October 2023
The boys' cub scout troop has constructed a White House replica out of sugar cubes (Viv makes a cute reference to Caroline Kennedy). Lucy calls President Kennedy (her phone # is Klondike-54320) and gets the troop invited to a meet-and-greet in Washington. On the train ride there, the replica is destroyed due to Lucy's negligence (what else?). Now the ladies must build a new one so as not to disappoint the boys.

Ms. Ball gets all the best parts of this episode. The highlight is the diner scene where Lucy schemes to swipe enough sugar to complete their project. Alan Reed (voice of Fred Flintstone) plays the gruff proprietor who makes a funny Republican joke.

Also funny is her after-the-fact entrance following a horse ride to catch up with the train she missed, and the final scene where she prepares to meet the President with a historical rocking chair stuck to her derriere.

Desi Jr appears as one of the scouts and has more lines than Sherman or Jerry.
