Lovejoy's back in England after some time abroad spending the money he conned out of the Brian Blessed character at the end of Series 2.
He quickly gets the old band back together. Turns out Lady Jane has Joanne Lumley over for a visit. Lumley's husband was murdered in some South American shyythole standing up for the rights of the n2tives in the face of government or corporate interests or both. She's got a ring to sell that'll help those n2tives, I dunno, build a spa or something.
Anyway, Lovejoy knows just who to turn to to start peddling the ring. Meanwhile, to keep it secure, they put it in a newfangled safe that can only be opened with an iris scan. That leads to a complication that results in a bit of a comedic B-plot.
Then Lady Jane meets some misfortune. Lovejoy sorts it all out. And there's a sweet payoff.
Doesn't exactly break any new ground. But it's good to see the show back on the air.
