When Captain Stubing receives word that someone from the Princess cruise line is coming on board to observe the crew for quality control purposes, everyone bends over backwards trying to make a good impression on "The Inspector". The problem is, nobody knows who he or she is. Could it be Marvin Waterman, the cranky middle-aged man who is always checking his watch and making notes? Or perhaps it's Mrs. Corwin, the dizzy blonde who is frequently making ship-to-shore phone calls? Or Mr. Zidresczky, the older man who only talks in a foreign language? In "A Very Special Girl", wallflower Jane Cole is traveling with her friend Melanie Taylor, whose popularity knows no bounds. Fellow passenger Mike Andrews wants to spend time with Melanie, and asks his buddy Doug Ketchum to keep Jane busy. "Until the Last Goodbye" concerns terminally ill New Yorker Brian Sherwood, and the special bond he seems to have with Californian Sarah Lambert.
