Julie's (Lauren Tewes) friend, Jeff Smith (Robert Urich), is separated from his wife, Gail (Pamela Franklin), but doesn't know that she's on board and carrying his child.—Maisie Fleckum

Synopsis

  • (DEAR BEVERLY) Beverly Blanchard, an advice columnist who comes aboard for a vacation is so busy writing her column and chatting with fans that her neglected husband Russ begins to woo a female passenger and is spotted by Gopher an Isaac who subtlety try to alert Beverly during an on deck question session. However, she observes the husbands flirtation during the session and, realizing her bad behavior, makes a deal with the husband to forgo business and give him her undivided attention. (THE STRIKE) Captain Stubing and chef Antonio Borga substituting for the hospitalized regular chef have a previous association and mutual dislike for one another. Stubing's constant insults push Borga to the point he walks off the job until Stubing issues a written apology. Equally as stubborn Stubing enlists the crew for kitchen duty until her receives a written apology. Wearied by the kitchen duty, the crew forges mutual written apologies between Stubing and Borga which forgery is discovered as Borga resumes duty. Just as it looks as if the truce is endanger, Stubing eschews pride and apologizes. (SPECIAL DELIVERY Julie is interested in old friend and travel agent Jeff Smith when she learns he is separated from his wife. Smith is unable to reciprocate because he still harboring feeling his wife. Unknown to Jeff Smith, his wife Gail is also on board regretful of the separation. An additional complication is that Gail is expecting and has not shared she is with Jeff. Bricker is somewhat interested in Gail. Eventually Jeff and Gail encounter each other on ship and reconcile. Doctor Bricker delivers the baby before the cruise's end.
